Welcome

Proudly hosted by the West Coast Fishing Club, the annual Fishing for Kids Fundraising Tournament raises much-needed funds for British Columbia-based children's charities. In just four years, the event has raised more than $1.7 million in charitable dollars.

The 2009 event was held September 3-6 at the Clubhouse, one of the West Coast Fishing Club's luxurious resorts in the majestic Queen Charlotte Islands. The $356,750 raised benefits long-standing partner BC Children's Hospital Foundation in its expansion of the Child & Family Research Institute. This year, the world-class tournament was pleased to welcome newly-founded Canucks' Autism Network (CAN) as a co-beneficiary.

The fifth-annual tournament will be held August 29-September 1, 2010.

Returning celebrity competitors this year included Vancouver Canucks defenceman and Canucks' Autism Network spokesman, Willie Mitchell and international culinary star, David Hawksworth. Mitchell and Hawksworth have both been instrumental in raising the profile of the event in the past three years and making valuable contributions to its success.

Fishing enthusiasts from across the globe, along with a number of BC's business leaders (including representatives from longstanding sponsors SMS Equipment and Komatsu) took to the boats to compete for high value prizes.
